MEMORIAL for OSKAR

Thank you for visiting Oskar's Memorial.

Oskar was a quite unusual cat who was loved by each and everyone who had the fortune of making his acquaintance. He has been teaching with us for over 10 years and we owe much gratitude for his contribution. His loyalty and humble expression of tolerance and acceptance was surpassed by none.

Amazingly he never wanted to do the wrong thing, ever, always patient for what he desired. If he were hungry or wanted to go out or in, he never cried not even a whimper. This behavior was unique to him until the last 2 months of his life when his disease made his stomach cravings unbearable. We certainly would love it if you would add an offering to OSKAR'S MEMORIAL .

Please submit your memories about our friend into OSKAR'S MEMORIAL . He certainly was dear to us all. Any Poetry or Love offerings to this great personality are warmly accepted.

OSKAR was COOL

The soul that is Oskar will travel with me wherever I go. As my life takes a new course, one which he could not always follow physically, he will accompany me in spirit. Something about him caught the hearts of all. Even those who disliked cats and those who even feared cats would somehow allow his approach. Oskar melted them. They became friends with him and even looked forward to seeing him. There were those who said that Oskar was the only cat they liked. Even long time cat owners felt something special in the presence of the one and only, Oskar.

Paul

Hola Oskar - Como estas ahora? Yo espero que tu estas en paz. You seemed to understand me when I spoke to you in Spanish. Peaceful you were. At peace you must be now. Vaya con Dios. Jessica

Oskar was the only cat I liked indeed. I always felt he somehow had such a gentle and wise soul. He was always so respectful of others, and so sweet. It is distressing to hear he suffered so much, and a relief he is in peace now. It is hard to imagine yoga class without him. He will [be] badly missed.

Oskar had an influence on me: I will soon be attending my 4th Yoga class. Thank you, Paul, and to all other readers and good hearts! Best, Jennifer.

Happy Birthday Paul. This being your first celebration in rememberance of Oskar. A pet is a funny name for an animal that becomes part of your life on such a spiritual level. Cats and dogs and any animal association is and will always be not only a curiosity but a familiar sense of loving kindness. I met Oskar many years ago at Ananda Ashram living in the beautiful fields of nature. Paul lived the silent hut in the middle of the forest and Oskar was in his element there. "Learning to practice to release the Self from bondage ..." a quote of YogaForAll Director Paul JJ Alix is the essence of Oskar and all pet's lives. Pets are so simple in there existence. Always present, always joyful, always peaceful, our pets teach us to release the Self. Oskar's spirit will always be remembered and honored as one of the founding Feline Yogi Gurudev. Namaste meow.
